「沖縄戦の石」「沖縄戦の弾痕」のパネル展、沖縄県営平和祈念公園案内所で開催　6月5日より

A look around the Okinawa Prefectural Peace Memorial Park will impress you with the natural surroundings and scenic splendour. Below you, the wonderful cobalt blue sea stretches far beyond the horizon. From the far reaches of this sea, the ‘Iron Storm’ of artillery fire was directed at the site. When you look at the gunshot marks that remain there in their original form, you can see the Iron Gale in three dimensions. The ‘Battle of Okinawa Boulder’ and the ‘Battle of Okinawa Bullet Trace’ will forever tell the story of the Battle of Okinawa, the ‘Iron Storm’, and will continue to exist there in their original form. 沖縄県営平和公園の眼下には水平線まで海の見渡せる素晴らしい景色と自然が一望できます。この海の彼方からこの地に向けて「鉄の暴風」と呼ばれる艦砲射撃が放たれて、多くの人命や地上の殆どの物が失われました。そのときの艦砲射撃の弾痕をサンゴ礁のリーフ上に、崩れた崖や崖下の岩塊に見ることができます。これらの痕跡は未来永劫に「鉄の暴風」という沖縄戦が存在したことを語り継ぎます。
