The First observation of the bending of light by the gravity of the sun was done by Sir Arthur Eddington, May 29, 1919. It was the day of a total solar eclipse. Since the Memorial Day, 100 years has almost been passed. Yesterday, Aug. 21, 2017, it was again the total solar eclipse. People on the Earth had enjoyed the 100-year anniversary of the discovery of the bending of light. It may also mean, however, the birth of a new physical theory.

皆既日食の日、5月29日、1919年、Sir Arthur Eddington率いる観測隊は、アインシュタインが予言した重力による光の屈折の観測に成功しました。それ以来、Eddingtonはアインシュタインを高く評価し、相対性理論は神話化の域にまで高められていきます。それから100年が経過しましたが、再び訪れた皆既日食に、人々は重力による光の屈折の発見の100年祭を楽しんだことでしょう。しかし、これは新しい物理学理論の誕生をも予感させるものである。
